The Brutally Honest "The Terrible" by Yrsa Daley-Ward
This is her poignant, brutally honest story about coming up in the UK. As an outsider, in more ways than one, she weaves a beautifully sad story about her relationships based on those differences. She learns the power, danger, sadness and joy of her sexuality, and how she wields it and it wields her. Throughout, Yrsa inserts poetry, prose and erratically placed text that brings even more life to her already emotionally-fueled writing. I couldn't put this book down. I hope others find it as beautiful, moving and connective as I did.
